Puʻuloa: The Premier Hawaiian Band for VA, Richmond & East Coast Events. Authenticity in every note!
Stuart Kindle is a Richmond-based multi-instrumentalist and a valued member of Pu’uloa's Extended ʻOhana, contributing his expertise on 'Ukulele, Guitar, Bass, Banjo, and Mandolin. With a musical journey that began in orchestra playing Bassoon and evolved into Jazz percussion, Bass, and Drums in rock bands, Stu studied classical Bassoon and music theory during his college years. In 2012, he discovered the 'Ukulele and has since made it his primary instrument, specializing in chord melodies, swing music, Gypsy Jazz, and rock and roll. He incorporates percussive knocks and strumming patterns to mimic drums, filling out the sound with rhythmic flair and creating a full, dynamic performance.
Stu's versatility shines in Pu’uloa, where he brings his years of experience across genres—including Jazz, Classical, Blues, R&B, Rock, Country, and Western Swing—to enhance our Hawaiian music sets.
We rely on Stuart's expertise in being able to play complete solo sets perfect for cocktail hour and intimate engagements.
When he's not playing music, he manages Richmond's Fan Guitar and Ukulele store as a co-owner.
Stu is available for teaching music lessons on various instruments every day except Friday (a man's gotta have a day off!), he enjoys sharing his passion through teaching and performing. Beyond music, Stu has a fun side: he loves snack foods, arm wrestling, and hilarious vests.
Mahalo nui loa to Stu for the laughter, lessons, and lasting inspiration!
